We too have made our own coffee from beans for over ten years, and after using Gevalia Columbian for at least five years, have converted over to LavAzza crema e aroma with half and half creamer because it is so smooth. We boil water in an electric pot, then pour it over the ground beans sitting in a cup in a filter. The temp of the water is never more than just boiling, and often slightly below boiling. We carafe up the pot right away and drink it the whole day.

My family thrives on its Lavazza intake. The Crema e Aroma beans are prepared in our Jura-Capresso S-9, which stays on most of the day. The flavor is smoother and more full than Illy, which we used before discovering these beans as a result of an Amazon review. The crema is thick, rich and holds up well to the high pressure of the Capresso.
